Group News

November 2024-

After completing his postdoctoral fellowship, Dr. Yunseok Lee joined the Samsung Advanced Research Institute.

The group welcomes two new postdoctoral researchers: Dr. Xin Deng, who received her PhD from Nankai University, and Dr. Xiaowei Wu, who received his PhD from the University of Houston.

September 2024-

Dr. Tony Vallace completed his postdoctoral stay and has joined First Light Solutions Inc. as CSO.

Jiaqi Zhang joined the group to work on DAC.  He is co-advised with Prof. Sievers.

August, 2024-

The group’s work on carbon capture was recognized by ACS with the 2025 E. V. Murphree Award in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry.

Dr. Samser Shaikh completed his postdoctoral stay and took a position at National Energy Technology Laboratory.

June, 2024-

Botagoz Kuspangaliyeva passed her Ph.D. proposal and was admitted to Ph.D. candidacy.  Congratulations!

May, 2024-

Dr. Guanhe Rim completed his postdoctoral stay and joined Aramco in Houston, TX.

February, 2024-

Youn Ji Min successfully defended her PhD thesis.  Congratulations to Youn Ji, PhD graduate #48.  Dr. Min will work at GT as a postdoc.

The Jones Group also participated in our biennial Birkman Assessment workshop.

January, 2024-

Quinn Yu and Dr. Gaurav Iyer joined the group to work on DAC.  They are both coadvised with Prof. Lively.
